So delightfully random. Thank you! Keeping your grandfather's shopping list. Such a brilliant, sweet treasure.

It is the simple little snippets of life that are so rewarding. Just like you re-reading your Grandfather’s shopping list. I read other nostalgic lists I have saved. One is a list my daughter wrote when she was eight or so:

Burie Fred ( she rescued and cared for a bird that hit the living room window and died later)

Clean room

Go to movies

I also tearfully read poetry notes of my departed Aunt from time to time. Thank you for bringing these dear sweet memories to the fore.

I love year end book lists and finding connections to books I’ve read too! Yours is a great list!

As someone who writes about pop culture and thus does a lot of lists, I love this soulful way of looking at them.

Thank you for keeping your Grandfather's shopping list. It touched my heart and I immediately became tearful. The same thing. happened to me when my brother died suddenly a couple of years ago. I had to clear his house and I found his list left on the table for the morning with his money and his personal things. It broke my heart. I have still have them. Suddenly, your words brought it all back.
